What does the Human Resources department do?
The Human Resources department is responsible for the vital personnel issues within Santo Domingo Tribal Programs, including:
- Recruitment
- Selection and retention
- Employee development and training
- Benefits administration
- Classification and compensation
- Disciplinary and grievance procedures
- Performance appraisal system
- Risk management
- Worker’s compensation administration
The Human Resources staff is responsible for personnel actions, file management, and new employee orientation. In addition they ensure compliance with required drug and alcohol testing procedures; assists Departmental Directors and Managers to resolve internal personnel conflicts and complaints; prepares and establishes various reports and documents to provide current personnel information; and performs other assignments as directed by the Tribal Programs Administrator. The Human Resources department shall maintain and ensure the accuracy of an organizational chart of personnel for each department based on function and staffing.
